The Bill, Returned on Formal Grounds
As you know, #TheSovereigntyLaw was returned by the Legislative Council for reasons of non-observance of certain formal requirements.
Every ill turns to good!
And this because we have the chance to add several other essential provisions, some inspired by our Hungarian neighbours.
Here is the text of a new article amending Law 272 of 21 June 2004 (**republished**) on the protection and promotion of the rights of the child:
“Law 272 of 21 June 2004 (**republished**) on the protection and promotion of the rights of the child, as subsequently amended and supplemented, is amended and supplemented as follows:
Following your suggestions I have modified the text of point 1, making it clearer and even harsher than the Hungarian law:
1. After para. 1 of art. 9 of Law 272 of 21 June 2004, paragraph 1’ is added, which shall have the following content: ‘The physical sexual identity of the child acquired at birth may not be modified before the age of 18.’
2. Article 46 paragraph 3 letter i of Law 272 of 21 June 2004 is amended and shall have the following content: ‘i) the systematic conduct in school units, at least once per semester, of programmes of education for life, including sexual education for children over 14, with a view to preventing the contracting of sexually transmitted diseases and the pregnancy of minors;’
3. In article 46 paragraph 3 of Law 272 of 21 June 2004, letter k) is added, with the following content: ‘k) the prohibition of making available to children under the age of eighteen pornographic content and content that depicts sexuality or promotes departure from gender identity, gender reassignment and homosexuality.”
