Dear Friends on Facebook

I should like to change this Facebook algorithm, because I realise that I no longer see so many of my friends’ posts.

You can end up interacting with the same 25 Facebook friends and nobody else. This post explains why we do not see all the posts from our friends.

I had thought that if I follow you on Facebook, I shall see what you post. No, it is not like that at all…

The news feed shows posts from the same person, some 25 people in all, because Facebook has a new algorithm. The system selects the people who will read your post. All the same, I should rather choose for myself. That is why I want to ask you a favour:

If you read this message, write me a short comment, a “hello”, whatever sticker you like, so that you will appear in my feed. Otherwise Facebook chooses who is shown to me, and I do not need Facebook to choose my friends for me!

Do not hesitate to copy this text and post it on your own wall, so that you may have more interaction with all your contacts and get around the system.

Hold your finger somewhere in this post to copy. Then press “copy”.

Now go to your page and with “Paste” you can post the text.

— Excellent! You have just copied and pasted!! I hope you will see more news from your friends now.

Find the post on FacebookThe Facebook archive keeps no permanent addresses for posts, and this entry has no photograph from which an address could be rebuilt. The button above opens directly a search by a phrase from the text, on the author’s page.
