Băsescu Is Dead
THE BĂSESCU ERA AND BĂSESCUISM GO ON!
Băsescu, the “myth”, the “political beast”, is dead.
Not the man, not physically. That one has just come out of hospital, thank you very much. Nor do I wish him dead, for, as I have said, I should like him to have many days in which to feel on his own skin, for many years to come, the humiliation and the suffering of the people he tormented for 10 years. In Christian fashion, I wish him to expiate all his sins, if possible from here, so as to ease his lot beyond. So that he may be delivered from his dreadful sins…
In any case, by his political and public death, Băsescu has managed to turn his name into a byword. A negative byword, but a byword that will have to be made a noun… for from today on a băsescu has become a common noun signifying a person who is base, treacherous, rancorous, villainous, an informer, selfish, of extreme malice and with a visceral hatred of everything that belongs to the identity and the interests of his own people.
Petrov remains.
There remains the revenant who still haunts us and will haunt us for many years to come. The revenant who vampirised a nation and who has turned millions of Romanians into revenants after his own hideous image and likeness — Petrov’s — with the defects, obsessions and habits of a băsescu.
Look around us: look at the Romanians vampirised and turned into vampires under Petrov’s influence! Look, and you will see that the băsescuists of a few years ago have become in turn the radical #resisters, the Kövesi-ite anti-corruption crusaders, the Iohannists, the 10-August-ists, the covidopaths, the radical vaccinists supporting the restrictive and segregationist measures and, soon, at the proper moment, they will become Kövesi-ites again.
Whole generations “re-educated” progressively, “right-wing”, “politically correct”, drilled to answer promptly and exactly the commands they receive from the malefic System reared and boosted by its godfather and “reformer”, the chief revenant Băsescu.
Look at the political class in which you find băsescuists from right to left, everywhere, even in the “conservative” circles that have become overnight “sovereignist” as well. Or at the Romanian “intelligentsia”, of which you could not be part and can never be accepted unless you were, or still are… a băsescuist. Or an anti-corruption crusader. Or an Iohannist. Or a 10-August-ist…
The revenant Petrov set loose the greatest pestilence that has struck this country since it has existed: a pestilence of anti-Romanianism, of humiliation, of servility and extreme obedience towards any glow-worm, of the lack of national pride; the contagious sickness of malice and extreme selfishness, of contempt for what we are and for what is human — a pestilence that seems to have disfigured the soul of this nation for generations to come.
Yes. Băsescu is dead. Petrov remains, the hideous face of the evil that perfectly embodies the decay and the calvary we have lived through these last 17 years.
But the Băsescu era goes on. And it will go on, it seems, until it has consumed like a cancer everything that is Romanian, everything that is left of this country, of this people, until it melts us into the amorphous and infernal mass of the New Normality which Băsferatu foretold like a horseman of the apocalypse.
Although Băsescu is dead, băsescuism, this contagious and deadly malady, still without an antidote today, is in full flower!
And only God can save us from this pestilence.
That is why, if we want to have a chance as a nation, as Romanians, the de-băsescification of Romania will have to be the next national project for the coming 20–25 years. Everything băsescu has touched, everything that has stood near him (physically or ideologically) and has been contaminated by băsescuism, everything that radiates băsescu’s presence or memory, must be removed from public life. And then, carefully, every person turned into a revenant by the beast’s bite must be tended in soul and in mind, so that their souls may be recovered and set right.
“Shame on you…” must be said to every băsescu, to every person who supported or merely endorsed the monstrosities of the Petrov regime, who made possible the moral, identitary and material morass in which we find ourselves. “Tolerance” towards any băsescu or băsescuism is nothing other than complicity and collaborationism. A veritable act of national treason.
De-băsescification is Romania’s last and only solution!
That is, if we still want to be a nation.
If we still want to be human beings!
