STREINU-CERCEL: Vaccinated or not, the mucous membrane will not let you off

Theoretically, there should be no great differences between the effects the vaccine has on adults and on children, given the design of these vaccines. Today’s vaccines are extremely safe and have almost nothing in common with the vaccines produced in the ’60s,” Cercel adds, quoted by Capital.
RAFILA: We may be vaccinated against Covid-19 every year
“We are in a competition between the speed of the disease and the speed of vaccination. My opinion is that we can have a somewhat quieter summer if we manage to keep up the pace of vaccination. What matters is that we should be able to administer up to 100,000 doses a day in order to be able to hope for immunisation (the real information below — Ed. note). What will happen in two or three months depends on what we do now. People’s willingness to be vaccinated must be preserved. When the quantities are large, people’s interest also falls, and this aspect must be borne in mind.
I believe the most optimistic scenario is towards the end of September. Then we could return to normal. This cannot be certified by anyone. We have no way of knowing whether modified strains will appear that also act on vaccinated persons.
It is possible that we shall have the vaccine every year or every two years. We shall see what the period of immunity after vaccination is.”
