Sad Conclusions After Charlie Hebdo

A few sad conclusions (especially for my French friends) after the last two nightmarish days in France:

1. After the 80,000 French policemen mobilised needed 2 days to catch two deranged cretins, we understand better why Hitler needed only 45 days to occupy France.

2. Hollande is an absolute Cretin (many things support the idea that he is a Cretin, but the fact that he described those madmen as “illuminés” makes him fully deserve the title of “absolute” as well).

3. “Incompétence” ought to join “liberté, égalité, fraternité” on the frontispiece of all French public buildings.

4. The fact that the French State will sponsor that squalid thing “Charlie Hebdo” on the ground that it encourages “freedom of opinion” demonstrates the sub-level to which a civilisation and a culture once a European standard have descended.

5. The French do not appear to have understood or learned anything from this tragedy, a fact which, taken together with the present demographic situation, announces hard times for a country of which I am particularly fond — and this for the simple reason that a national and cultural identity is defended neither with weapons nor with insalubrious publications.
